- 0.5 cupBottled Char Siu sauce
- 2 cupsBroccoli florets
- 1 unitLarge red bell pepper
- 1 cupCarrots, julienned or shredded
- 1 cupSnap peas
- 3 clovesGarlic, minced
- 1 tablespoonFresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoonsVegetable or canola oil
- 2 tablespoonsSesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 unitGreen onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- 1
Cut the chicken into 1-inch bite-sized pieces. In a medium bowl, toss the chicken with 1/4 cup of the char siu sauce. Chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets, slice the bell pepper into thin strips, julienne or shred the carrots, and trim the ends of the snap peas. Mince the garlic and grate the fresh ginger.
⏱ 15 min - 2
Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for 4-6 minutes, or until the chicken is browned and mostly cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
⏱ 6 min - 3
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to the same wok. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broccoli florets and julienned carrots, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender-crisp. Then, add the sliced bell pepper and snap peas, continuing to stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
⏱ 7 min - 4
Return the cooked chicken to the wok with the vegetables. Pour in the remaining 1/4 cup of char siu sauce and toss everything together to ensure all ingredients are well coated. Cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to heat through and slightly thicken.
⏱ 2 min - 5
Remove the wok from heat. Garnish generously with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot, ideally over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
